We are addressing three technical problems that plague our healthcare system today:

  1. Most hospitals still enter data manually, hiring large teams of people who copy info across systems one field at a time
  2. Data is siloed into different systems (billing, clinical, departmental) and communicating across different systems and people loses embedded info and quality of the data
  3. Getting data out of registries and databases often is a political game and duplicating successful projects from other institutions rarely happens

Our team has fixed or vastly improved outcomes for all three of these problems. We automate data entry, have a groundbreaking data model for synthesizing the data from siloed systems, and allow any quality improvement project to be shared within minutes. For quality improvement folks at our hospitals clients, our software creates useful, easy-to-understand information from the complicated, disconnected data of the EHR. For physicians, nurses, and administrators, we provide user-friendly applications to manage the length of stay, supply usage, and other common operational challenges.

We structure the data around patient timelines, making a knowledge graph that describes the relationships along the patient journey through the hospital. This allows us to quickly generate schema or queries from the data that can be replicated at different institutions.

As an Integration Engineer, you will work with clients to help them accomplish their research, interventions, and improve care. You will be a central part of the set up of Cartographer with new hospital clients, working to build connectors to their data. Your work will link client data with our analytics interventions. Post-sales, you’ll help our sales team support client relationships with analytics teams. If you are the sort of person who loves to tackle big problems, we’d love to have you join our team.

Some of the things you’ll be doing include…

  • Ensure smooth transition from the sales phase to the delivery phase by writing data connectors between any custom fields in the EMR and Cartographer
  • Support sales efforts in writing client-facing services presentations / Statements of Work including scope, level of effort estimates, and schedules for integration
  • Provide presales support for your sales teammates
  • Become an expert in the features, benefits and application of Carta’s products
  • Nurture and expand the company’s relationship within customer accounts
  • Keep abreast of competition, competitive issues and products
  • Practice effective, superb communication with management, customers and support staff


Previous EMR experience

Bachelor’s Degree with a technical focus (or alternative work experience)

Previous programming experience (2+ years)


Experience with healthcare analytics, data, databases, predictive modeling preferred.
